On April 20th, River Road African American Museum will join a multitude of stewards for our planet in celebration of everything the planet has given to us as it continues to sustain and provide for us. We are partnering with Louisiana Clean Fuels, Rural Roots Louisiana, Miss Anne's Maypop, Wonderful Botanical, indigenous Louisiana communities and local farmers for a day of remembrance, celebration, education, and activation to restore the earth.
When brothers Leonard and Harold Julien put their minds together to create a simpler and more profitable way to cultivate their sugarcane, they revolutionized the sugarcane industry forever. This development brought about a renewed energy of sustainability and reminds us just how much the earth has given; therefore much is expected. As stewards of the earth we are expected to care for it and heal it as it does us. Join us as we celebrate all the earth and its bounty with great food, song and dance!
